Omg, I'm having a lot of fun with this game, nice oldskool atmosphere, but f*ckin hell it is needlessly annoying. Lots of cheap shots (falling platforms, lamps, etc), but also you will never have the opportunity to heal after you die. So if you saved in an area that is difficult, it is potentially impossible to progress.
However, it is a really cool game, so the motivation is to continue is high. But, I'm on the verge of abandoning it, sad to say. It really is needlessly frustrating.
Might be me, of course. Wonder what other people think.
i agree , gave up on it myself when one area was literally just instant death after rewspawning unless you pull off some precise jumping... just got boring for me ! a shame as its a good looking game but it needs balancing .
nice game but the wall jump is really hard to do , particularly in eggplant forest part 4 ... it needs either some grip on the wall after jumping into it or get rid of the opposite direction jump after the 1st jump ( if that makes sense ! ) OR im doing something wrong thats making it hard ...
Just press move towards the wall and jump. To climb higher between opposite walls, you'll need to switch move direction, like that: right+jump, left+jump, right+jump etc. That's not too hard, but requires some training.
Without learning this technique you'll skip lots of secrets (already skipped, I guess). And this game is full of secrets, 4-5 on each level.

You should try easy mode. On easy there are no falling lamps (well, there is one, but it's in a secret area) and HP restores if you die.
Haha, that's actually good advice, I'm just not cut out for hard mode, haha.
